Public Transport and Parking
Airport to City Shuttle Services
Bus shuttle services are available from Perth Airport to the city. A one-way trip from the domestic terminal costs $11.00 per person and from the international terminal costs $13.00 per person.
Taxis
Taxi ranks are located outside both terminals, and commissionaires are available to assist you during peak movement periods. As a general guide, the following fees apply for taxi’s travelling from:
- Domestic Terminal to CBD: $27
- International Terminal to CBD: $35
Public Transport
Perth has an advanced public transport infrastructure providing frequent train and bus services. Free Central Area Transit (CAT) busses also operate within the Central Business District, allowing passengers to hop on and off with ease. Please visit or call 13 62 13 for more information.
Parking
Parking within the Perth Convention Centre car park is open to the public and spaces are limited by 8.00am. We encourage delegates to arrive early each day of the Summit to avoid any potential parking problems that may be encountered.
All day parking up to 6pm for a maximum of 10 hours is available from $13.00 per day (subject to change without notice). The Summit also has a limited opportunity to reserve parking bays for local delegates. Reserved Bays are $22.00 per day and can be booked via the registration form. Please note that this price may be subject to change, delegates reserving bays will be notified should there be variations to the charge.
The booking deadline for pre-reserved parking is 18 August 2008.
Climate
The average maximum temperature in September is 20 Degrees Celsius and an average rainfall of 89.3mm.
Child Care
Please note that no official arrangements have been made for child care during the Summit. Please check with the hotel you are staying at who may be able to assist you further with babysitting services during your stay.
Communication
All communication with registered delegates will be by email wherever an email address is provided, or by fax. If you register and do not receive a confirmation either by email or fax within 5 working days please contact the Summit Secretariat EECW by phone on (08) 9389 1488 or email info@eecw.com.au
Insurance
Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind. It is strongly recommended that all delegates take out their own travel and medical insurance prior to coming to the Summit. The policy should include loss of fees/deposit through cancellation of your participation in the Summit, or through cancellation of the Summit itself, loss of airfares for any reason, medical expenses, loss or damage to personal property, additional expenses and repatriation should travel arrangements have to be altered. Neither the Summit Secretariat nor the Organising Committee will take any responsibility for any participant failing to insure. Please speak to your travel agent or airline in regard to this matter.
Meals
All tea breaks and lunches will be served amongst the technical exhibition. The Summit Organisers recognise that some delegates may have special dietary needs. Please advise the Summit Secretariat either via the registration form or in writing should you wish for them to make alternative arrangements on your behalf.
Privacy Statement
In registering for 2008 YEA National Summit relevant details may be incorporated into a delegate list for the benefit of all delegates, sponsors, exhibitors, Young Engineers Australia, EECW Pty Ltd and other parties directly related to the Summit. Should you wish for your details not to be included in this list, please tick the privacy requested box on the registration form.
Smoking Policy
The Perth Convention Exhibition Centre has a no smoking policy. This policy also applies to the majority of restaurants, bars and shopping centres in Perth.
