Richard joined the Graduate School of Business in 1999 and has over 20 years experience in the health and higher education sector as a practicing clinician, administrator and educator/researcher. Richard teaches in the area of managerial leadership and effectiveness, locally and overseas where his scholarly interests focus on the early career practitioner and the use of specific development.

Andrew Botros MIEAust

Andrew Botros, 28, is a biomedical engineer at Cochlear Limited, the Australian manufacturer of the bionic ear. His work has led to the application of machine-intelligent 7 in surgical theatres and clinics around the world, a first for the cochlear implant industry. Furthering this effort, Andrew is currently undertaking a PhD with Cochlear and UNSW, creating simulations and analyses of auditory nerve function within clinical applications.

For his academic research in the acoustics of woodwind instruments, Andrew is a UNSW University Medallist, a winner of the Siemens Prize for Innovation and a winner of the Australian Acoustical Society?s Excellence in Acoustics award. Most recently, Andrew is Engineers Australia's 2006 Young Professional Engineer of the Year.

Anntonette Joseph MAIE GradIEAust

Anntonette, 25 is the National Chair for Young Engineers Australia, 2008 and President of the National Space Society of Australia. She currently heads up Sustainability for the NSW Business Chamber where she provides thought leadership, advice and policy in the fields of environmental and corporate sustainability. Most of Anntonette's work has been focussed on the business response to climate change where she is a travelling speaker in regional areas of NSW. Anntonette is highly involved in young professional activities and currently an international ambassador for young engineers.

Leeanne Bond FIEAust RPEQ GAICD

Ms Leeanne Bond is a chemical engineer with extensive experience in business management, projects, design and proposals for a number of international engineering and project management organisations on projects across the hydrocarbons, minerals processing, infrastructure, water and power industry sectors. She consults to industry through her company Breakthrough Energy Pty Ltd. She will complete her MBA from the University of Queensland this year.

At the World Congress of Chemical Engineering, Melbourne, 2000, Leeanne was awarded the Shedden Uhde Medal for services to the profession of Chemical Engineering. In Canberra in November 2007, Leeanne was named Professional Engineer of the Year by Engineers Australia.

Patrick Hill is the Manager of the Sinclair Knight Merz Water & Environment Business in South East Australia. The Water & Environment operating centre is the largest operation within SKM?s global practice and employs over 400 staff in 10 offices across Victoria, South Australia, Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania, and generates revenue in the vicinity of $65 million per annum. Patrick was recently awarded the prestigious Young Professional Engineer of the Year award for 2007. He has been a professional engineer for more than 12 years, working on a range of diverse and interesting projects in the Water and Environmental sector.

Kim Axworthy

Kim graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2003, with an honours degree in Mechatronics Engineering. Following her graduation, Kim travelled for a year through a number of countries in Asia and Central America, and it was during this time that her passion for development work evolved. Kim has worked as a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager for WorleyParsons, and started the WA Chapter of Engineers Without Borders Australia (EWB) in late 2004. Since then, the Chapter has grown from 5 members to nearly 400, and Kim now works full-time for EWB as their South East Asia Program Manager.

Mike is at the cutting edge of new physics and the holy grail of time. Many modern developments in a technological society are based on high quality clocks such as GPS satellite system, radar, fibre optics, even mobile phones. The FSM Group are using their devices to test new theories of cosmology, and to search for evidence of "new physics" that goes beyond the present conception of physics. At each point, they are dedicated to commercialising their inventions and thus hold patents in conjunction with industry.

Andy van Kann

Andy is an electrical engineer, entrepreneur, innovator and racing expert. He co-founded an automotive suspension technology R & D company in WA and through his company Kinetic, he successfully negotiated a number of Intellectual Property deals with world leading vehicle makers including Citroen, Mitsubishi and Toyota, adopting the WA technology as standard fit on all of its flagship Land Cruiser 200 vehicles.

In parallel with his professional career Andy started his motorsport career in 1971. Over the following 30 years, Andy has been driver and co-driver in rally's. This year has switched back to the driver?s seat and will be competing in the Targawest in his rare historic Toyota Corolla Levin rally car.
